Know what stays here and what leaves your browser.

This page explains how The Loop website and its interactive presentations are designed to handle information. Xavier University's official privacy notices and policies remain the governing university statements.

The public pages can be browsed without creating an account or submitting a web form. As of August 23, 2026, The Loop does not install an analytics or advertising service. Standard technical information may still be processed by Xavier's web-hosting systems as described in the university privacy notice.

Public website

Most content and media are delivered directly from The Loop's Xavier-hosted site.

  • The site uses no advertising tracker and currently has no visitor-submission form.
  • An approved Adobe Fonts file is requested from Adobe's Typekit service.
  • The AI Strategy page includes a privacy-enhanced YouTube embed. YouTube may receive technical request information when the video loads or plays.
  • Following a social-media or other external link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Interactive presentations

Some Loop presentations include optional activities and participation records.

  • Participation records and credential identity details are stored in your browser's local storage until you clear them.
  • Exporting a participation record creates a text file on your device. The page does not upload that export.
  • Controls inside the presentation let you clear the locally stored record.
  • An instructor-provided AI session key is kept in page memory and browser session storage, and can be removed with the disconnect control.

Live AI activities

When a presentation clearly labels a live AI activity, the text you submit is sent to OpenRouter and the named model provider so the activity can return a response.

  • The presentation runtime requests zero-data-retention routing and denies provider data collection for each model request.
  • OpenRouter retains request metadata such as token counts and latency, but its documentation says that metadata does not include prompt or response content.
  • Do not enter sensitive, confidential, restricted, or personally identifying information in a live AI activity.
  • Local participation exports do not include the AI session key or live AI inputs and outputs.

Your choices

  • Browse the main public pages without using a live AI activity.
  • Decline to enter information into an optional presentation activity.
  • Clear a local participation record from the presentation controls.
  • Disconnect an AI session key when you finish.
  • Use browser controls to limit site storage, cookies, or third-party content.

A live activity should tell you what will be sent before you run it. If that explanation is missing or unclear, do not submit the activity.
