’26 → ’27

2026 builds it. 2027 opens it.

Everything else on this site describes what The Loop is. This page is what it is going through. The Robinette Center for Innovation is being materially improved from the inside, and the building stays closed to outside groups until that work is done.

Underway

What is happening inside.

A lab going in, a mural taking shape, AI literacy already being taught. None of it public yet.

Live September 2026

The Generative AI Teaching Lab

Xavier’s technology office has installation underway, and the building’s electrical capacity is being raised to carry it. Twenty seats, live in September.

Painting targeted for September 2026

The mural

Cincinnati artist Matthew Grote is designing a full-scale mural for the Center’s corner along Dana Avenue. Concept studies are underway; painting is targeted for September. Meet the artist.

Running now

AI literacy for Xavier

Free certificate programs in responsible and effective AI, taught to Xavier faculty and staff first. We test on our own people before opening this to anyone else. See the certificate.

Then

What 2027 opens.

When the interior work is finished, the things this building was rebuilt for start.

2027

Public programs

Free and low-cost AI training for the wider community, including regional educators, prospective students, and families.

2027

Space for groups

Workshops, working sessions, and gatherings, in a building finally good enough to invite people into.

2027

The certificate, network-wide

Free access to Responsible and Effective AI opens across the Xavier network, past the faculty and staff testing it now.
